Christmas dinner service success

Our hospitality and catering students engaged in a presentation and award ceremony to congratulate them on successfully completing three weeks of Christmas service. They were thanked for their tremendous efforts and hard work over this festive period.

Our students prepared, cooked and served a total of 2,448 plated meals, including starters, main courses and desserts, from their Christmas menu.

This experience has been a great opportunity for our Level 1, 2 and 3 Catering students and Level 2 and 3 Front of House students to develop their employability skills, and work as part of a team. Our catering students thoroughly enjoyed working together to produce high quality dishes.

The students excelled their expectations and have developed practical catering skills in a real-life restaurant environment.

Lynn Mitchinson, Catering Lecturer, commented: “All of our students contributed to a successful festive period. They delivered excellent customer service, and demonstrated key employability skills. I am extremely proud of all the students for their professionalism, contribution, attendance and punctuality. We received great customer comments about the standard of food and service provided.”
