Media Students help produce Lumiere App

Our Media students have been working with Artichoke to provide content for the Durham Lumiere 2017 App. Sunderland University students are developing an interactive App for the event, to provide spectators with information on each light installation. Our students have been given the opportunity to develop their skills, as they will be recording the 30 artists who will be displaying their installations in and around Durham City this autumn. Each video will provide a narrative about the ideas, planning and creation of each installation. The App will be available for download, and will be triggered by gates, to provide an innovative experience for spectators.

Peter Morrison, Head of School, commented: ‘This is a fantastic opportunity for our Media students to work closely with professional artists on a high profile, interactive media project. We can’t thank Artichoke enough.”
