Students volunteer at Kynren
Six of our public services students braved the intense heat for two days to help the UK’s ‘must see’ spectacular outdoor live action show, Kynren, prepare for their first performance this year.
The students very kindly volunteered their time to help with various activities around the Kynren site. They all demonstrated fantastic teamwork skills and a selfless commitment to helping out during their summer holiday.
All of our second year public services students will complete a work placement at Kynren from September 2018 to June 2019.
Colin Hardy, Head of Estates at Kynren, said: “I cannot thank the six students from New College Durham enough for the work they have completed over the two days. Amazing example of hard working students, thank you.”
Sinead Reed, Public Services Lecturer, commented: “The students have been an absolute credit to the College. I am really happy with all the feedback we have received about their hard work.”
Our full-time public services courses will prepare students for life on the front line in a rewarding career with one of the many public services employers.
