Helen Lumley - Creative Media Production

Helen progressed to The University of Sunderland to study Broadcast Media Production.  Her dissertation, a TV Pilot entitled Community Radio, won the Regional Student Royal Television Society Award 2017 in the Comedy and Entertainment category.

Keira is currently exploring Australia and New Zealand, and making the most of their excellent sports opportunities.

Jamie started at the college studying our Vocational Access programme, and then progressed to Supported Employment. Jamie has gained the skills he needed for work and has now secured employment with his work placement employer.

Julie described her experience at New College Durham as interesting, fun and confidence building.  Studying the CMI programme has enabled Julie to implement a project at work, which has enabled Durham County Council to make significant cost savings.

Robbie is currently in a professional band, who are starting to build a national profile, and is hoping to progress to BA (Hons) Music top-up at New College Durham.

Amy Gibson

Amy studied beauty therapy at New College Durham after leaving school and was delighted that she could stay here to complete her foundation degree. She is now a Make-up Artist in a salon and is hoping to become self-employed, and eventually own her own salon.

Caitlin joined the Painting and Decorating course as a Choices Plus student.  She has since excelled in her studies and her tutors say she has a natural talent for this vocation.

Kathryn is now studying occupational therapy at York St. John University.  She said she wouldn't be where she is now without the knowledge she gained from the foundation degree at New College Durham.
