Course: Access to HE - Health
Previous school: Roseberry Sports and Community College
Sarah attended our open days to learn more about the course. She was a mature student returning to education after working for eight years.
“I was worried I would be the only mature student but this subsided when I met the friendly tutors. They helped me understand that I had transferable skills despite having no previous experience working in healthcare.
“The staff were always extremely supportive, and used different teaching styles and activities to make learning fun.
“The campus was good, with plenty of resources and areas for studying and socialising. It was very modern and a nice environment to learn in.
“My experience at New College Durham was engaging and helped me build my confidence. I am excited to start my first full-time job as a registered adult nurse next week.”
Sarah progressed to study BSc (Hons) Nursing Studies at Teesside University. She has secured her first full-time job as a registered adult nurse.
The Access to Higher Education Health pathway provides the entry criteria for a variety of health related higher education qualifications including nursing, midwifery and paramedics.
