Apprenticeships and higher apprenticeships
Apprenticeships and higher apprenticeships are great if you know which industry you would like to work in!
An apprenticeship is a real job with training so you can earn money and gain a nationally recognised qualification. Training takes place on-the-job so you will be in the workplace for most of the week. You will also attend college one day a week to study towards your qualification.
Did you know you can get up to £3000 for taking on an apprentice?
Our apprenticeship team can help you apply for the payment, as well as:
- Recruit apprentices
- Maximise your training budget
- Create bespoke training
New College Durham works with over 450 employers across the region in a range of sectors and we have a success rates constantly above the national average.

Courses will include online and remote delivery and will commence in this format initially due to the current government guidelines, therefore, you will need to have access to a computer to participate.
We will return to on-site study when it is safe to do so.
