New College Shortlisted for Three Educate North Awards
We are proud to announce that we have been shortlisted in three categories of the prestigious Educate North Awards 2019.
Our summer Contact and Enrolment Centre and Higher Education School Enhancement Project have been nominated in the Student Experience Award. The Research Project of the Year category has recognised two of our projects: A research-based induction to aid student transition and Implementing Student Journal Clubs. The College is also only one of two FE establishments from the North East area to be shortlisted for the esteemed FE College of the Year award.
John Widdowson CBE, Principal and Chief Executive at New College Durham, said:
“We are delighted to have been shortlisted for these three prestigious awards which recognise our continuing work to promote innovative new ideas and provide the best possible educational outcome for all of our students. This respected recognition is testament to the hard work and dedication of all of the staff here at New College Durham.”
Now in its fifth year, Educate North Awards is a prominent awards event which celebrates, recognises and shares best practice and excellence in the education sector in the North.
The winners will be announced at the gala awards ceremony held in Manchester on Thursday 25 April 2019. The event will be attended by up to 300 education professionals from Further and Higher Education institutions from across the North.
