Sport student achieves his dream of becoming a qualified football coach
Sport student, Harry, has accomplished his dream of becoming a qualified coach by recently passing his FA Level One coach qualification. He is thought to be the country's first qualified coach with Down's Syndrome.
Harry has been working as an assistant coach with the Amazons’ Stompers under-sevens team since April, and his beaming personality and smile has made him a much-loved part of the Amazons Football Club for girls and women in County Durham.
Harry passed the FA course with flying colours – it included a combination of classroom theory as well as planning and delivering numerous coaching sessions over nine three-hour sessions.
As a proud member of the Newcastle United Foundation Down’s Syndrome team, and a Level 2 Sport student at New College Durham, Harry is keeping himself busy.
