Trade Mission Fair is a success

New College Durham hosted the International Trade Mission Fair for 2019. Around 100 students from colleges across Europe represented companies from their home countries, to promote and sell their chosen products here in the UK.

Local businesses were also invited to attend the Trade Fair at the College to network after the employer breakfast.

The students were from seven different colleges across Belgium, France, The Netherlands and Spain. They had to successfully trade from companies based in Europe, to try to infiltrate the UK market.

This was a great opportunity for the students to meet people from different cultures and gain experience in marketing and sales.

Justin Ripassa, Trade Mission student, commented: “We have had a super time. It has been a great experience for us and we have learned a lot about the business world in the UK. Thank you to everyone who made this week possible.”

Julie Underwood, International Trade Director NECC, said: “I am very impressed with all of the students who have taken part. It has been very close to a real International Trade Fair.”

Clare Howarth, International Business Development Manager, said: “It was a fantastic week. It was great to see the students from our partner colleges bring enthusiasm and professionalism to the event. We hope they enjoyed it as much as we have at New College Durham.”
