New College Durham Students Celebrate A-Level Success
Students and staff from New College Durham’s Sixth Form Centre are celebrating another successful year for A-Level results which has seen even more students passing their courses.
They celebrated a 100% pass rate in 20 A-Levelsubjects including Further Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Psychology and History and an overall increase in pass rates on the previous year. The excellent results have enabled students to progress to positive destinations such as university and higher apprenticeships.
A Level student Callum Anderson is heading to the University of Southampton to study Maths. He achieved A*A*AA in Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry and Advanced Physics. He said: “The teachers at New College Durham were so supportive and really relaxed. I had so much fun here and I’m very happy with my results and coming to New College has made me really ready for University”
Another student, Eleanor Norton, joined New College Durham to study A Levels after not feeling like she was not reaching her potential elsewhere. She is on her way to achieving her career goal by studying Zoology at Newcastle University with excellent results of ABB in Chemistry, Biology and History. She said: “There are so many things I liked about studying at New College Durham. I began studying A-Levels elsewhere then started here a little later. The support and advice that the teachers gave me has been incredible and really helped me achieve my full potential”

New College Durham’s Sixth Form Centre attracts students from across the region with a diverse range of A-Level programmes and outstanding facilities. The College also offers vocational courses, apprenticeships and higher education programmes including foundation degrees, honours degrees, professional qualification and higher apprenticeships.
