Course: A-Levels (Biology, Psychology and Chemistry)
Caitlin chose New College Durham because she wanted to get more from her college experience. She has progressed to study Psychology at Newcastle University.
“There is more to college than just getting your qualification – New College Durham offered first class support and for that reason alone I would honestly recommend the Sixth Form Centre. The tutors actually care about you as a person, not just as a statistic, so you know you can go to them about anything.
“The College campus is modern – this was really important to me as I was doing science subjects. I wanted to have access to modern equipment and really enjoyed the fact that my lecturers were interested in current research and didn’t just follow a textbook.
“I am really excited to study at Newcastle university, after completing my degree in Psychology I would like to focus on Neuropsychology, specifically drug addiction and development. I love travelling and learning so, ideally, I would like to study for a masters or PhD abroad. I would like to help addicts, to rehabilitate them and to further my knowledge through my own research.
“I am glad I started studying for my A-Levels with a plan and a goal – it might seem like studying is all that matters but you need to take time to relax so you don’t run yourself into the ground. Work hard but look after yourself!”
