Jade Wanless
Course: BSc (Hons) Podiatry
Previous school: Coquet High School
Jade chose to study at New College Durham because she was impressed by our high pass rates.
She said:
“I was drawn in by the high pass rates and the dedication and support students received from their tutors. The clinic facilities were a bonus as I had the opportunity to apply my theoretical knowledge to real-life patients.
“I found the programme interesting and challenging. It had its own work related pressures but was also highly rewarding. The student support from higher education staff really made a difference. My tutors helped to boost my confidence and competence in line with the course demands.
“I got a real sense of achievement knowing I was helping to improve the quality of life of patients and providing holistic care.
“The campus was outstanding and the facilities and equipment were second to none. I am so glad I returned to education to fulfil my ambition of becoming a podiatrist. I have developed so many transferable skills whilst studying at New College Durham, it really is a fantastic place to study.
“I have secured a full-time role working for the NHS and know this couldn’t have been possible without the help, advice and support I received at New College Durham. My work placements helped to prepare me physically and mentally for the ‘real world’ of work.”
Jade secured a full-time role working as a podiatrist for the NHS.
