Linda Wight, Vice Chair, said: "I joined the board of New College Durham as I wanted to use and develop the skills I had to make a positive impact on the community. Although education was not an area I had worked in previously, there was excellent training and support provided which helped me to develop my understanding of the sector.
I work with a diverse range of people, from a wide range of professional backgrounds. This adds to the richness of the role and makes the personal benefits significant. Overall, the role is immensely rewarding."
