Engineering Operative Apprentice

As an engineering operative, you will have duties such as: 

• Operating and programming plasma and gas CNC burning equipment. 
• Operating plate blasting equipment. 
• Operating band saws. 
• Advancing on to brake press and rolling machine operation. 

Duration:

• 18 months enrolled onto L2 Engineering Operative
• Progressing onto a higher apprenticeship for 30 months 

Salary: 

• Year 1 - £7.51 per hour 
• Year 2 - £8.99 per hour
• Year 3 & 4 - £11.14 per hour 

• Training

  • You will be enrolled onto a Level 2 Engineering Operative Apprenticeship at New College Durham 
  • On going training will be provided by Liebherr and New College Durham

• Employer Description

  Liebherr Sunderland Works Ltd, which started production in 1989, is a manufacturing plant for maritime cranes and cargo handling equipment including ship and port cranes, offshore cranes and mobile harbour cranes. On Friday [July, 11], the equipment manufacturer played host to staff, stakeholders and members of the family that own Liebherr, with a day of tours of its Ayres Quay base, before an evening of celebration at the city’s Stadium of Light.
