  • What is an Institute of Technology?

    An Institute of Technology (IoT) is a collaboration between further education (FE) providers, universities, and employers.

    As an IoT, New College Durham and partners will specialise in delivering higher technical education (at Level 4 and 5) with a focus on STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) subjects. 

    NEIoT provides students with a clear route to employment and upskill the regional workforce, creating a thriving, competitive jobs market with high quality talent feeding into and strengthening regional businesses.

    New College Durham is the North East’s IoT anchor Further Education partner and lead further education partner.

    The North East Institute of Technology is also supported by education delivery partners:

    Nissan Motor Manufacturing (UK) and Esh Group are lead employer partners for Advanced Manufacturing and Construction and the Built Environment respectively.
