Apprentice Early Years Practitioner

A fantastic opportunity for an Early Years Apprentice to join our established team. We are rated Outstanding and have amazing facilities both indoor and outdoor. Our ethos is delivered through child led discovery and you will learn how to deliver exciting learning opportunities such as woodwork, risky play, STEM challenges and forest school.

If you’re highly motivated enthusiastic and wanting to gain a childcare qualification, as well as the necessary skills and confidence to grow your career within Early Years, you could be what we’re looking for. 

Main responsibilities:

To deliver a high standard of learning, development and care for children aged 0-5 years in an outstanding setting.

To ensure that the nursery is a safe environment for children, staff and others.

To developing partnerships with parents/carers to increase involvement in their child’s development.

To be responsible for any tasks delegated by the Deputy Nursery Manager/Nursery Manager

To complete all academic aspects of the apprenticeship

Main activities:

To provide a safe, caring, stimulating educational environment, both indoors and outdoors,   at all times.

To deliver an appropriate play based Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum that enables children to make individual progress.

To help ensure the nursery meets Ofsted requirements at all times.

 To understand and work to nursery policies and procedures, including how to deal with child protection issues appropriately and how to respond to incidents, accidents, complaints and emergencies

 To plan activities which ensure each child is working towards the early learning outcomes.

 To be a key person

 To ensure records are properly maintained, e.g. daily attendance register, accident and incident records, risk assessments

To liaise closely with parents/carers, informing them about the nursery and its curriculum, exchanging information about children’s progress and encouraging parents’ involvement.

 To work in partnership with the team to update and review the self-evaluation and improvement plan.

 To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed, in accordance with the nursery aims and objectives.

    Full training provided including day release at New College Durham.

    Providing high quality care and education for children 0-5 years , in a positive play based learning environment. We have amazing outdoor facilities that are both exciting and stimulating, children are given lots of opportunities to be outdoors exploring and investigating, whatever the weather. We now use an online app for out learning journeys called 'famly'  It is a great way to share information with you about your child, document any interests developing and celebrate their achievements.
