Homestay Event

Our Homestay event takes place on Thursday 28 November, 5pm-7pm.

Join us on campus from 5pm where our International and Homestay Team will be available to provide you with an ideal opportunity to:

• Learn more about hosting an international student
• Meet current homestay families and learn about their experiences
• Learn more about different cultures
• Find out more about the process and requirements needed to become a Homestay family

About Homestay...

• Earn up to £135 per week by hosting an international student.
• Students from around the world, including Norway and Denmark, choose homestay options with New College Durham.
• Student ages start from 16 years, with stays ranging from 8 weeks to a full academic year.
• Homestay families can vary in size and background but should be welcoming, supportive, and encouraging.
• Safeguarding measures include providing information on safeguarding practices and undergoing a DBS (police check) for main adult residents.
