Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship Information Communications Technician
“New College Durham was my first choice because of its fantastic reputation and apprenticeships success rates. The programme was challenging but I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of it!
Emily expressed how invaluable her experience at New College Durham was in her gaining transferable skills that she uses in her everyday life, she said:
“Over the two years I learned so much – my college tutor and my employer were both very supportive and helped me to achieve my full potential. Regular review meetings provided me with ample opportunities to discuss my progress and achievements and receive constructive feedback and discuss how I was feeling about my progress to create targets to continuously improve.
“My apprenticeship allowed me to develop a wide range of skills – relevant to the role but also things I wanted to improve at the beginning and my assessor and employer encouraged me to achieve these! I was even awarded Apprentice of the Year in 2019!
“I progressed to study at Teesside University after having a change of heart about what I wanted to do in life. This is no reflection of the apprenticeship or New College as I have no regrets about completing my apprenticeship, gaining my qualification, and making some amazing lifelong friends. I am now studying BSc (Hons) Operating Department Practice.
“I couldn’t have done it without the commitment and support from New College Durham, they are a truly fantastic college for apprenticeships.”
