Level 3 Performing Arts (Drama)

“There is nothing like the excitement and adrenaline before a show! That is a feeling I will never get bored of and is one of the many reasons why I loved studying performing arts at New College Durham."

Joel really enjoyed the build up to a show and was always looking for ways to expand his skillset.

He said:

“I took part in numerous professional performances, including Sweeney Todd the musical by Jim Cartwright. We gained experience performing in the Drama Studio and the Gala Theatre in Durham. New College Durham also provided me with fantastic opportunities to take part in workshops with industry experts, such as Frantic Assembly, and to go to London for five days. Our trip to London was amazing - we did an acting workshop with National Theatre, toured the Globe and watched some outstanding west end shows.

“I can’t thank my lecturers at New College Durham enough as they prepared me for my foundation year at the University of the Arts London (UAL). I completed my foundation year and I am currently studying at The Royal Birmingham Conservatoire (formally Birmingham School of Acting).”
