Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship Cyber Security Technologist
“An apprenticeship appealed to me because you get work experience, as well as gaining relevant qualifications and earning a wage for doing so!"
Lee joined us on our computing apprenticeship, he said:
“During the two-year apprenticeship, I worked closely with my mentor at Durham County Council, and my Apprenticeship Skills Coordinator at NCD to ensure I successfully completed the programme. I received fantastic support and progressed to study a higher apprenticeship with the same employer to gain a foundation degree in computing, again with my day release at New College. I was in the workplace four days a week and attended New College one day a week.
“The level of support from the staff, and friends I have made on the course, at New College Durham has been consistent throughout my three years of studying. I am hoping to gain a permanent position with my current employer.”
Engineer (Hosting and Security) at Durham Country Council.
