Level 3 Auto-Electrical Apprenticeship

Niall decided to take the apprenticeship route as he recognised it would give him the opportunity to gain valuable experience and the skills he needed.
He said:
“Despite my original intentions of going to university, I decided to become an apprentice as I knew it would provide me with the skills, opportunities and support to be successful. I gained an apprenticeship with Nissan Motor Manufacturing UK Ltd and it was decided that New College Durham was the best place to study my day release.
“The best thing about the course was that no two days were the same. We would attend college on day per week and it was always exciting finding out what we were going to learn or make. The facilities were excellent, and the atmosphere was lively!
“I am confident that the opportunities and support I received during my time at college will help me to progress in my career with Nissan, I intend to gain a better understanding of how the company works both regionally and nationally.”
After completing his apprenticeship, Niall secured a full-time role as Specialist Manufacturing Staff with Nissan.
