Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship Business Administration

"One of the things I loved most about the College was how welcome my tutors made me feel, and how I was guided through my units step-by-step"

Stephen chose to do an apprenticeship as it would allow him to earn money while completing his GCSEs.

He said:

“The main reason I chose to an apprenticeship over full-time study was because I left school with low GCSEs due to spending the last years of secondary school fighting cancer. I wanted to have a proper shot at my GCSEs and earn money while doing so, therefore an apprenticeship was the perfect option.

“A lot of my older friends went to New College Durham and I had heard good things about the tutors and support available.

“I received fantastic support throughout studying functional skills and my employer helped to motivate me through this too – I just needed to put my mind to it! I was put forward for most hardworking Level 2 Business Administration Apprentice and proudly won the award.”

“As a student and employee at New College Durham, I was able to see the positive journey students went out and how they were supported to ensure they passed. I have secured a full-time role with New College Durham and plan to stay here to take on new challenges and see how I can progress.”

Stephen gained full-time employment with New College Durham within the Apprenticeships Team.
