View A-Level CoursesWe have an outstanding learning environment to ensure that you develop the knowledge, skills and values required to thrive academically and to progress to university or into employment. Last year 100% of our A-Level students who applied for undergraduate places were successful.
Our A-Level students go on to study at universities such as Cambridge, York, Exeter, Newcastle and Durham. Some students choose to progress onto one of the wide range of full and part-time degree level programmes offered here at New College Durham.
We have an excellent relationship with universities and our students attend lectures and workshops in a university setting and visit higher education institutions, such as Oxford University, Cambridge University and Durham University, to help prepare for the next stage in their education journey.
We proudly celebrate a 100% pass rate in all A-Level subjects, with most of our students progressing to study at their first-choice university or securing a higher apprenticeship placement!
A-Levels are two year, mainly theory-based courses with exams at the end. You will study three or four subjects which allows you to keep your options open.
You perform well in exams and want to study more than one subject in depth.
You want to progress to university as, unlike school sixth forms, our Sixth Form Centre offers a challenging independent learning environment so you can level up ready for university study.
