This Accounts/Finance Assistant apprenticeship programme will ensure you have the skills to maintain an efficient and accurate finance function within a business.
AAT is the world’s leading professional body for accounting technicians. This Level 2 programme is the current entry level for an accounting apprenticeship.
Entry Criteria
You will hold five GCSEs, including maths and English at Level 2.
Additional Costs
You will be advised to purchase the supporting text books at approximately £100. Re-sit fees are £61-64 per exam.

Study Aims
The Level 2 Certificate in Accounting covers a broad range of core accounting skills, as well as accountancy-related business skills and personal skills.
Key themes have also been introduced throughout the suite of accounting qualifications, including technology, ethics, sustainability and communication.
Modules Studied
This qualification comprises four mandatory units: Introduction to Bookkeeping ~ Principles of Bookkeeping Controls ~ Principles of Costing ~ The Business Environment
Teaching and Assessment
You will attend college one day a week for lectures and practical sessions. All assessments are via on-line examinations.
End Point Assessment
The End Point Assesment (EPA) for this accounting apprenticeship will consist of two parts.
A structured interview, supported by the summary of portfolio evidence. The interview will last for 60 minutes, and will focus on the portfolio of evidence your have produced during the on-programme learning element of your apprenticeship. This interview will be conducted remotely via the AAT Smart End Point Assessment (SEPA) platform.
An in-tray test overview. The test will be computer based, and last for 105 minutes, this includes 15 minutes at the beginning for you to review the information provided. The test will be made up of a combination of questions and data evaluations covering the knowledge and skills identified as applicable to the assessment method within the grading criteria.
Maths and English
You will hold five GCSEs, including maths and English at Level 2.
Upon successful completion of the Level 2 apprenticeship, you may progress to Level 3 Assistant Accountant apprenticeship or the AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting.
