This course is aimed for people aged 19 years or over.

This part-time course will help you to gain the confidence and required knowledge and understanding of the three main Microsoft applications - Word, Excel and PowerPoint – used in the workplace.

Improve your productivity by learning the basics in IT in a step-by-step manner with extensive support from your tutor. Develop many transferable skills and achieve the full Level 2 qualification to open the door to new opportunities.

Entry Criteria

You do not need extensive experience of Word, Excel or PowerPoint as these applications will be taught on the course.

Ideally, you will have achieved the Level 1 qualification or have relevant experience in Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and be a confident computer user with an understanding of file management.

Using a computer effectively is now an essential skill. This is the world's number one IT user qualification and is recognised by employers in the UK and all over the globe as a benchmark for IT competence.

Gaining this qualification will improve your employment prospects and allow you to prove your IT skills if you are looking for a job or promotion at work.

Modules Studied

This full Level 2 qualification is comprised of the following four units:

  • Word Processing Software
  • Spreadsheet Software
  • Presentation Software
  • Improving Productivity using IT

Teaching and Assessment

You will learn in a supportive and welcoming environment and will receive guidance from your tutor to assist you with completing tasks.

You will work on your own and with other students on different tasks, so you are always practising important in-demand life and work skills such as problem-solving, decision-making, prioritising, negotiating, collaborating and independence.

You will learn in a step-by-step manner so you can complete challenging tasks in enjoyable and relaxing ways. Your tutor will also work with you individually, so you know how to improve and how to work in a way that improves your learning. You will need to do work outside the classroom and use Microsoft Office 365 to help you.

You must pass all four units to be awarded the certificate.
