Age 16-18

If you are aged 16, 17 or 18 on 31 August in the year you begin your course, not enrolled at another educational institution and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years, your course will be FREE. Some courses will have other costs associated, such as for materials and trips.

If you are aged 19 or older on 31 August in the year you begin your course, not enrolled at another educational institution and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years, your course could be free dependant on the level of the course and your eligibility criteria. This course is aimed for people aged 19 years or over.

Completing this Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills course would be useful if you would like to develop your counselling skills, either in work or a personal capacity.

This qualification may also be useful if you wish to progress towards advanced qualifications, or to compliment other qualifications you are working towards or hold, such as health and social care, children's care, learning and development, coaching, or voluntary and community work.

The aim of the course is to develop your counselling skills so you are able to understand different approaches and appreciate the importance of self-development.
