This BTEC Entry Level 1 Certificate in Pre-Vocational Studies course focuses on helping young people develop their communication skills, customer service skills, problem solving skills, time management, and independent living skills.
Developed to support young people, each bespoke programme is designed to meet the individual needs of a student.
Alongside your course you will work towards developing your maths and English, personal development and enrichment.

What are the next steps?
All applicants will be required to attend an interview prior to enrolment, a meet the tutor session will be then arranged for a later date.
Study Aims
The aim of the qualification is to encourage learners to enjoy learning, gain confidence and promote their learning in the future. The qualification aim to inspire learners to take on higher study, take ownership of their learning by becoming engaged and to make informed decisions about their progression
Modules Studied
Learners will take part in 10 units to complete the qualification.
The 10 units that learners will participate in are the following:
- Engaging in New Situations
- Communicating with Others
- Working Towards a Given Target
- Engaging in Personal Health and Wellbeing
- Going on a Prepared Visit
- Engaging in a Team Activity
- Participating in a Performance
- Helping with an Event
- Taking part in a Creative Activity
- Exploring an Enterprise Activity
Times of Delivery
The sessions will be timetabled over approximately 3-4 days which will also include maths, English, digital skills and personal development sessions.
Any times indicated are based on current courses and may be subject to change in future years. Full timetables will be confirmed at the start of each course.
Teaching and Assessment
All theory and practical sessions will be delivered in classrooms. Assessment will be internally set and conducted through small assignments, portfolios, observation and question and answer sessions.
Maths and English
All learners who have not achieved a grade 4 in maths and English will be required to continue studying these until they achieve a GCSE grade 4 or Level 2 Functional Skills.
Placement
To support with your learning and employability skills, we encourage our learners to take part in a work placement to develop confidence and progression throughout the course.
