Age 16-18

FREE (If meet residency criteria and not enrolled at another educational institution).

If you are aged 16, 17 or 18 on 31 August in the year you begin your course, not enrolled at another educational institution and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years, your course will be FREE. Some courses will have other costs associated, such as for materials and trips.

Age 19+

If you are aged 19 or older on 31 August in the year you begin your course, not enrolled at another educational institution and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years, your course could be free dependant on the level of the course and your eligibility criteria. Do you have a Educational Health Care Plan and are now ready to go into employment? Supported Internships could be potentially your next step.

Our Supported Internship will help you gain experience in a working environment. You will develop independence while on work experience for four days each week. While there, you will improve your communication skills, customer service skills, problem solving skills, time management, and independent living skills.

Developed to support young people, each bespoke internship is designed to meet the individual needs of a student.

This course is set up with 3 days a week being at your internship and 1 day at college.

Alongside your course you will work towards developing your maths and English and personal development.

What are the next steps?

All applicants will be required to attend an interview prior to enrolment, a meet the tutor session will be then arranged for a later date.

Study Aims

The aim of the qualification is to equip young people with the skills they need to secure and sustain employment through learning in the workplace, with support from a qualified job coach.

Teaching and Assessment

Assessment will be internally set and conducted through small assignments, portfolios and observation in the work place.

Maths and English

All learners who have not achieved a grade 4 in maths and English will be required to continue studying these until they achieve a GCSE grade 4 or Level 2 Functional Skills.

Placement

All learners who enrol on a Supported Internship will require a placement which they must attend 3 days a week.
