This two-year course aims to allow you to explore opportunities in the travel and tourism sector, you will improve your skills, knowledge and behaviours to support your progression into further study, higher education or employment.
Entry Criteria
4 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English or maths or Functional Skills Level 2
Additional Costs
You will be required to contribute £30 at the start of the year to cover trips and visits.

Study Aims
This travel and tourism qualification is designed to give you the skills to work in the travel and tourism sector.
The qualification will:
- Focus on a number of occupational areas within the travel and tourism sector
- Offer breadth and depth of study, incorporating a key core of knowledge, skills and understanding
- Provide you with opportunities to acquire a number of transferable, practical and work-related skills
- Allow you to explore the various avenues of work within the industry

You must complete three mandatory units and 15 optional units.

Teaching and Assessment

You will be provided with opportunities to engage in suitable work ready skills activities, including a minimum of two weeks work placement.

You could progress to FdA Tourism and Events Management at New College Durham.
Alternatively, you could secure a role within the industry locally, nationally or internationally.
