What is the Turing scheme?
The Turing Scheme is the UK government’s scheme to provide funding for international opportunities in education and training across the world. It supports Global Britain by providing an opportunity for UK organisations to offer their students, learners and pupils life-changing experiences to study or work abroad. New College Durham has successfully received funding via the Turing Scheme to assist students financially in completing a work placement abroad.

What can we use the funding for?
New College Durham works with a partner in Malta to arrange work placements for a minimum of four weeks, ideally during the summer, and provides support before, during and after the process. Students can choose from a range of work placement sectors including:
- Construction & Engineering
- IT
- Catering and Hospitality
- Administration and HR
- Business and Sales
- Tourism
- Marketing
- Law
- Graphic Design and Illustration
- Accounting and Finance
- Education and Childcare
- Sports

Who can use the funding?
Students studying Level 4, Level 5 or Level 6 programmes will be able to apply.
