Age 16-18

FREE (If meet residency criteria and not enrolled at another educational institution).

If you are aged 16, 17 or 18 on 31 August in the year you begin your course, not enrolled at another educational institution and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years, your course will be FREE. Some courses will have other costs associated, such as for materials and trips.

Age 19+

If you are aged 19 or older on 31 August in the year you begin your course, not enrolled at another educational institution and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years, your course could be free dependant on the level of the course and your eligibility criteria. The EAL Level 2 Diploma in Engineering Operations with a focus on Fabrication and Welding is designed to provide learners with the foundational skills, knowledge, and understanding required to begin a successful career in the engineering sector. With a specific emphasis on fabrication and welding, this course prepares individuals for work in industries such as manufacturing, construction, and maintenance where precision engineering is key.

Entry Criteria

Learners must have minimum grade 3 in GCSE Maths & English.

Additional Costs

Learners will be required to purchase their own safety boots, flame retardant overalls.

Modules Studied

Engineering environment awareness. Engineering techniques Engineering mathematics and science principles . Fabrication and welding principles. Manual welding techniques. Producing components from metal plate. Producing components from sheet metal.

The course is normally studied over 3/4 days per week, 0900 - 1630.
