This course is suitable for learners who require additional support or need to develop their Maths and English skills whilst working towards their progression goals by taking part in a range of theory and sessions.
In our IT specialism option, you will take part in a carousel of lessons introducing you to the different paths in the industry.
Developed to support young people, each bespoke programme is designed to meet the individual needs of a student.
Alongside your course you will work towards developing your maths and English, personal development and enrichment.

What are the next steps?
All applicants will be required to interview prior to enrolment, a meet the tutor session will be then arranged for a later date.
Study Aims
The qualification is designed around practical skills and tasks that place an emphasis on learners demonstrating what they can do rather than what they know in theory. The qualification gives learners the opportunity to acquire and develop generic and transferable skills along with introductory IT skills.
Modules Studied
Learners will take part in 5 units to complete the qualification.
The 2 Mandatory units that learners will participate in are the following:
- Skills for Learning
- Team Challenge
Alongside this Learners will participate in 3 additional units that will be in their subject specialism, IT, and assist in developing skills needed for progression in Further Education.
Times of Delivery
The lessons will be timetabled over approximately 3-4 days which will also include Maths, English. digital skills and Personal Development sessions.
Any times indicated are based on current courses and may be subject to change in future years. Full timetables will be confirmed at the start of each course.
Teaching and Assessment
All theory and practical sessions will be delivered in classrooms with IT facilities. Assessment will be internally set and conducted through assignments, portfolios, observation and question & answer sessions.
Maths and English
All learners who have not achieved a grade 4 in maths and English will be required to continue studying these until they achieve a GCSE grade 4 or Level 2 Functional Skills.
Placement
To support with your learning and employability skills, we encourage all learners to take part in a vocationally related work placement to develop confidence and progression throughout the course.
