This course is suitable for learners who require additional support or need to develop their Maths and English skills whilst working towards their progression goals by taking part in theory and practical sessions.
In our Construction specialism option, you will take part in a carousel of workshops introducing you to the different paths in the industry.
Developed to support young people, each bespoke programme is designed to meet the individual needs of a student.
Alongside your course you will work towards developing your maths and English, personal development, enrichment and digital skills.

What are the next steps?
All applicants will be required to attend an interview prior to enrolment, a meet the tutor session will be then arranged for a later date.
Study Aims
This qualification will enable learners to identify personal learning or employment goals and develop transferable skills. This pathway covers sector-based skills, knowledge and behaviours, preparing learners for work in the Construction sector.
Modules Studied
Learners will take part in a range of units to make up their 13 credits needed to complete the qualification.
The core Employability units that learners will participate in are the following:
- Preparation for Further Learning or Employment
- Skills for Employability
- Preparation for an Interview
Alongside this Learners will participate in 7 additional units that will be in their subject specialism, Construction, and assist in developing skills needed for progression in Further Education.
Times of Delivery
The sessions will be timetabled over approximately 3-4 days which will also include maths, English, digital skills and personal development sessions.

Teaching and Assessment
All theory sessions will be delivered in classrooms, practical sessions will be delivered in the workshop. Assessment will be internally set and conducted through assignments, portfolios, observation and question & and sessions.
Maths and English
All learners who have not achieved a grade 4 in maths and English will be required to continue studying these until they achieve a GCSE grade 4 or Level 2 Functional Skills.
Placement
To support with your learning and employability skills, we encourage our learners to take part in a work placement to develop confidence and progression throughout the course.
