This exciting Level 3 course is designed for anyone passionate about creating content for media, broadcast, or production. Whether your goal is to start work, begin an apprenticeship or head to university, this qualification will equip you with the essential skills and knowledge to succeed in the creative industries.
Entry Criteria
You will hold 5 GCSEs, including maths and English at grade 5 or above.
Additional Costs
It is recommended that you purchase a 32GB SD card (preferably class 10, 90MB/s), and optionally, a large memory stick or external hard drive, along with over-ear headphones. Additionally, trips arranged throughout the year may incur extra costs.

Study Aims
This fast-paced, exciting qualification is suitable for anyone wanting a career in the media, broadcast and production sector. It will allow you to develop and test your creativity. Teaching and Assessment
T Level students spend 80% of their time learning in the classroom, developing the skills employers seek. The other 20% is spent on an exciting industry placement, where you’ll put what you’ve learned into practice in a real-world setting.
End Point Assessment
All assessments are externally set. They include written exams and practical projects based on industry briefs.
Industry Links
We are very proud of the strong industry links we have with industry. To enhance your experience, we work with several media companies and industry professionals. You will also have the opportunity to attend sessions with guest speakers and will also be encouraged to attend and enter film festivals such as Aesthetica in York and The Royal Television Society Young Peoples' Media Festival in Sunderland.
Maths and English
English and mathematical skills are embedded in all elements of the programme.
Placement
One of the best parts of a T Level is the industry placement. You’ll spend at least 315 hours (about 45 days) working with an employer, which is around 20% of your course. This is an amazing chance to put your new skills into practice, gain real-world experience, and get a real feel for the workplace.
After completing your T Level, you’ll have plenty of options to continue your journey:

You could move on to a Level 3 apprenticeship to gain further skills and full occupational competence. You might choose a higher-level apprenticeship, such as: Level 4 Postproduction Technical Operator Assistant Technical Director (Visual Effects) Media Production Co-ordinator Assistant Recording Technician If you prefer an academic route, you could progress to a Higher National Certificate (HNC), Higher National Diploma (HND), or even a degree programme in a related field.
