Age 16-18
FREE (If meet residency criteria and not enrolled at another educational institution).
If you are aged 16, 17 or 18 on 31 August in the year you begin your course, not enrolled at another educational institution and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years, your course will be FREE. Some courses will have other costs associated, such as for materials and trips.
Age 19+
If you are aged 19 or older on 31 August in the year you begin your course, not enrolled at another educational institution and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years, your course could be free dependant on the level of the course and your eligibility criteria. This course is aimed for people aged 19 years or over.
Gain the skills and knowledge needed to work in the beauty industry with this part-time course.
From skincare, waxing and applying make-up to the health and safety regulations and client care, this course will prepare you to progress to Level 3 or employment in the industry.
You will need to purchase a kit and uniform for the course.

Modules Studied
Units studied will be facials, waxing, manicure, pedicure, head massage, eyelash and brow treatments, make-up. Theory includes health and safety, client care, reception and promote products.
Teaching and Assessment
Assessment on theory and practical, theory will be assignments and on-demand exams.
Practical assessments on clients, you will be required to find models.
You could progress to study Level 3 Beauty Therapy (part-time) at New College Durham.You will gain the skills and knowledge needed to work in a beauty salon or self-employed.
