This patisserie and confectionery course is suitable for you if you have little or no experience. It covers basic craft skills and focuses on pastry items.
This full-time course will prepare you to progress to a relevant Level 3 course or apprenticeship, or employment.

Study Aims
Develop your patisserie and confectionery skills, as well as an awareness of health and food safety in the catering industry.
This full-time patisserie and confectionery course will give you the opportunity to bake biscuits, cakes and sponge products. You will also create hot and cold desserts, paste products and fermented dough products.
This course is designed for those who work or want to work as Patisserie Chefs in the catering and hospitality sector.

Placement
Placement will be an essential part of the course, we recommend having an industry placement to gain experience in the industry.
This Level 2 full-time course will prepare you to progress to Level 3 Certificate in Professional Patisserie and Confectionery at New College Durham, or a relevant course or an apprenticeship.
You could also progress to employment within the industry.
