T-Level Construction students, Ben Turnbull and Jay Stubbs, had a very successful first year on the programme and are both continuing to gain invaluable industry experience by studying four days at college and one day with Team RE:GEN.
Ben and Jay gained an overview of the commercial and production departments in their first year and have both decided to pursue a career in quantity surveying.
Scott Emerson, Academy Coach at RE:GEN group, commented:
“For the second year, I have partnered Ben and Jay with a dedicated quantity surveyor mentor, they will complete a bespoke development plan to ensure they get the most out of their time with us.
“Everyone at Team RE:GEN has been impressed with their positive attitudes and desire to learn and we are very excited to see what the future holds!”
Ben’s mentor, Liberty Dean, said:
“It has been great getting to know Ben. He comes in everyday with a positive attitude and isn’t shy to ask questions.
“The internal scheme Ben is completing will expose him to many aspects of quantity surveying. He has been working on comparison documents, take offs and site visits.
“I am looking forward to seeing Ben progress and his knowledge expand.”
Jay’s mentor, Jessica Williams Cook, said:
“Jay will be working with me on the Pennywell Regeneration scheme – our largest two-year framework awarded by Gentoo last year at £17m. The framework has included a range of external and environmental improvements.
“Jay will be involved in this fast-paced scheme as we monitor and improve. He will cover onsite take offs, valuations, cost control, site delivery through to handovers.
“I am excited to work with Jay over the upcoming year and seeing how he applies his expanding knowledge both internally and externally.
We are very proud of Ben and Jay and look forward to hearing more about their progress with Team RE:GEN.
