New College Durham has introduced a new team of talented and experienced business development professionals to boost its provision for local employers.
Heading up the team is Lisa Waller who has been appointed to the role of Head of Business Development (Sales & Growth). Lisa joins New College with over 30 years’ experience working in management positions in a wide range of sectors including recruitment, welfare to work and further education.
Lisa said: “During my career I have developed Business Development Teams to become top performing teams achieving high volume and quality business. I hope to repeat this success at New College Durham by taking the time to understand our client's individual needs and then working with them to find the best training and recruitment options to suit their circumstances. I am delighted to welcome my new team and look forward to being part of the college’s exciting growth plans.”
Lisa will be supported by two Business Development Managers. Abby Fox joins the college from Finchale Group. She has over 15 years’ experience in marketing and business development positions within the public and private sector where promoting further education and training has always played a key role.
Abby said: “I am very enthusiastic about business development and have developed a flair for communicating with employers and learners. I am really excited about working with new employers and chatting about the amazing training opportunities we have at New College Durham.”
Operating in the second Business Development Manager role is Lee Holroyd. Lee combines 19 years’ experience in education with over 10 years sales experience working in the automotive industry.
Lee said: “I am delighted to join such a prestigious educational establishment and look forward to representing the college when meeting employers around the North East.”
Leanne Hopper brings over 10 years’ experience in client account development and management across a variety of sectors to her new role of Business Recruitment Co-ordinator. Leanne said: “I am very passionate about encouraging learners to discover their true potential and find their desired career path. I look forward to developing learner relationships and furthering my experience in this exciting new team.”
Andy Broadbent, Principal and CEO at New College Durham, said: “We are delighted to welcome the new business development team to the college. Stakeholder engagement has been a key strategic focus for the college over the last two years. Our impressive work in this area was recognised by Ofsted when we became the only college in the North East to receive a ‘Strong’ rating for skills provision which measures how well colleges meets the needs of the local economy. The new business development team will build on our strengths by offering bespoke training packages, recruitment academies and funded training opportunities tailored to meet employer’s needs. We are excited to see what new partnerships and new opportunities the team will develop.”
